Things I am SO glad I did and suggest to you
● Join a business group and network.
● Hire people who can assist you with the smaller tasks so you can keep an eye on the bigger
picture. I have always had a bookkeeper (my daughter’s firm now and yes she was in
that business group as well) because not only do I despise this work, but I am
very poor at it!
● Get an Amex- I have had my American Express card since 1990. It does give
you clout.
● I have kept my Go-Daddy domains. I have several!
● Have a good website.
● Collect, save and build an email list. Use a CRM. FB and IG are not yours to keep!
● Start a separate business banking account.
Poor choices I’ve made / Things I could do Better!
● Keep your eye on toxic people. Be sure the staff is “in sync”. I mentioned in my last
email about getting complacent and letting someone toxic run things.
● Niche. I have my hands in a lot of things. I often think I should have niched down.
● Take some risks! I don’t take enough risks. I know that many believe that I do,
and I suppose just having my business and renting an office space IS risky,
however, there have been times I perhaps should have taken a bigger financial
risk to HIRE BIG.
● Set goals. Keep an eye on them! I set goals, but I feel I could pay more
consistent attention to them! I’m working on that!
Takeaways
Take some of my top suggestions that might work for you. Join groups,
network, build relationships. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right
groups. Don’t think of that as a waste of time. It’s growth. Lessons are
steps towards growth.
And learn from my positives and from my poorer choices.
Have some Fun! And…
Don’t let the hard days win!
